THE QUIET AFTER THE STORM.

Sometimes it can happen that even those who find their natural habitat in the sea, the most trusted friend, in some moments find it the most dangerous enemy.

Even men of the sea, those who undertake it every day whether for necessity, for work or pleasure, in the midst of a storm and overwhelmed by unstoppable winds, give way to fear and lose faith in the sea.

And this has always happened and in all waters: even in Ischia, where fishermen, when lost in the stormy sea, often found refuge and comfort in a cave: “Magician’s Cave.

Here, where the waves calmed down and where fear gave way to stillness, a mysterious figure, imagination or reality, appeared, able to comfort them ..

An old sage with a long white beard, a good spirit in the guise of an old sage, who with his words instilled hope and who thanks to a magical intervention made the surrounding sea a rich fishing booty for the guests of his cave!

Ischia has always been a marine island, devoted to the sea and all that it offers … For this reason, thanks to this pleasant tour, the TEDs offer to discover its wonders together.

The tour starts from the Pescatori beach, aboard the characteristic boats of the island landscape, to skirt the ancient village of Celsa, named for the presence of the numerous mulberry trees that were planted there in the 1300s by the Augustinian monks; and always from the boats you will admire the marvelous marine flora, including Posidonia, a fundamental plant for the sustenance of the seas, up to the phenomenon of “Vullutura”, consisting of underwater fumaroles that surround the majestic Aragonese castle.

You will pass under the bridge that connects with the latter and continue towards the Bay of Sant’Anna, where there is a charming church that overlooks the coast from above, until you reach the “Magician’s Cave“, where you you can take a dip in the surrounding waters: splendid … and mysterious!

To conclude the trip full of emotions and beautiful images, we will reach the Ischia Ponte Borgo where we will taste the excellent typical bread stuffed with piennolo cherry tomatoes and basil.
